The Latin Alternative

When people think "prog rock", they think of artists like Yes and Genesis. But did you know that the genre also thrived (and continues to do so) across the Americas? This week we spotlight Latin progressive rock, including music from Zoé, Mars Volta, Banda Nueva, Zurdok, Sacramento and Liquits. 

This week is a special takeover episode with Camilo Lara, the cultural instigator behind three brilliant and completely distinct musical projects: electronic act Mexican Institute of Sound, the Morrissey-meets-mariachi crew Mexrrissey, and the cumbia hip-hop group Compass.
